That’s where infrared (IR) comes in. Heat that actually hits you Think of it like the sun. You feel the warmth on your skin even if the air around you is crisp. IR emitters send waves straight to the target—the people and the benches—instead of trying to warm up every cubic inch of a massive room. This is why a freezing room feels cozy in seconds. For these big industrial spaces, we stick with shortwave infrared. It travels further and digs deeper. If you’re mounting lamps high up, it’s really the only way to make sure the heat actually reaches the floor. Getting the power right If your changing area is drafty, you can’t go lean on the power. You need a decent amount of wattage to get that “warm hug” feeling. We usually go with high-output quartz lamps to get the job done. But here’s the catch: your electrical panel has limits. If you flip every heater on at once, you’re probably going to trip a breaker. It’s a massive power spike. To avoid a dark room and a grumpy electrician, we recommend staggering the start-up. Give the system a moment to breathe. The balancing act of installation Putting the units high up is great because they stay out of the way and nobody can accidentally smash them.
