The honest trade-offs
Nothing is perfect. To make this work, the outer shell is a few millimeters larger than a sealed unit. You’re trading a tiny bit of wall space for the ability to fix your own heater without a toolkit. To us, that’s a fair deal. One quick tip: keep a couple of spare tubes on a shelf. Since these live in damp areas, the connection points can get a bit crusty over time. Whenever you swap a tube, just give the terminals a quick look to make sure everything is tight and clean. It keeps the electricity flowing smoothly and prevents any sparking.
