Heat travels up the wire, makes the insulation brittle, and eventually—pop—you’ve got a short circuit. The problem with “cheap” seals Think about the heat involved here. It’s intense. If the material sealing that connection isn’t built for constant, high-temp stress, it starts to shrink. Once that insulation pulls back, the copper is exposed. That’s when you get arcing. A lot of consumer-grade builds try to get away with a basic bead of silicone or some low-temp glue. It works for a while, but it’s not nearly enough. Doing it the right way We do things differently. If you’re fitting these into a really tight space, you can’t just bend the wire into a sharp angle. If you force it, you’ll put too much stress on the potting.
